Hilltop House is a non-profit corporation, established with two goals in mind - to provide affordable housing for individuals of retirement age while servicing a healthy and exuberant community full of activities and friendships. We feel we have accomplished both of these goals and we are very proud of the community we have established. We are not resting on laurels, however. We are always looking for new and innovative ways to improve our small neighborhood, and our residents help us in making those decisions.
An Equal Opportunity Retirement Community
Residency at Hilltop House is open to all qualified, eligible persons, 62 years of age or older.
Our 124-unit, equal opportunity facility provides housing through the Department of Housing and Urban Development's Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly program.
Rent is income-based.
Our Building
Hilltop House underwent a complete renovation of our almost 50-year old building starting in May 2015 and completed in July of 2016.
We installed a new roof, a new plumbing system throughout the building, electrical updates, landscaping and exterior improvements.
Our residents are delighted with their new apartments which were gutted and outfitted with new kitchen cabinets, carpeting, flooring, bathroom vanities, walk-in showers if the resident desired, closet doors and a Saflok for each door offering reliable security for each apartment.
The renovation was completed with the assistance of Beacon Development, SMR Architects and Walsh Construction with oversight by HUD and funding by CBRE.
We are so pleased we were able to complete the much-needed renovations so that we can continue to provide affordable, comfortable and safe housing for older residents with lower incomes for the next 50 years.
